MWA now accepting registrations for its Spring Workshop2017-02-13
The three-day event begins with a networking day on Tuesday, with golf or tree-top trekking, followed by the opening of the trade show, a reception and a Trivia Night.
On Wednesday morning there will be tours of the Lake of Bays Brewery or an MHSW site in Muskoka. Note: no safety gear is needed for either tour.
The sessions begin late morning with an in-depth look at the latest developments from the Waste-Free Ontario Act, the strategy and resulting provincial guidelines and regulations.
We will have updates from the markets, the Continuous Improvement Fund, the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority. The MWA Annual General Meeting will be held Wednesday afternoon.
Our sessions this year look at using community groups to spread the word on waste diversion, and a profile of an early adopter of carts and other innovations. We hear how York Region is placing the emphasis on reuse, we look at Wellington County's new mobile MHSW service, and we hear about using social marketing to change public attitudes.
This year is the MWA's 30th anniversary. A special presentation over dinner will look at the life and times of the organization, and this will be followed by the passing of the MWA ED torch.
Payment can be made on-line, by calling the office with your credit card (519) 823-1990, via electronic funds transfer - or by cheque.
