Ontario, B.C., territories sign deals to boost internal trade Published Online: July 22, 2025 Written by: Canadian Plastics "The Premiers of Ontario, British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut have signed two new Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) designed to boost internal trade, improve labour mobility, and remove barriers to doing business between provinces and territories.
Ontario and B.C., and Ontario and the three territories, have signed separate agreements that Ontario Premier Doug Ford says will help Canada unlock about $200 billion in economic potential.
“With President Trump’s ongoing threats to our economy, there’s never been a more important time to boost internal trade to build a more competitive, resilient and self-reliant economy,” Premier Ford said in a statement.
