Goodwill deploys custom granulator to help meet diversion goals

"Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes (OGL), has bought a Rotogran granulator to help divert more than 272,000 kilograms of plastic per year from landfills.
In its fiscal year 2024-25, Goodwill Industries OGL collected more than 31 million kilos of donated goods, with just over 20 million kilos sold for reuse, and another 6.3 million kilos to recycling, repurposing approximately 86 percent of all goods received.
However, Goodwill is striving to achieve zero waste, and hard plastics – like large Tupperware or toys – have lacked a sustainable solution. “There wasn’t an aftermarket solution in place, so we needed to create one,” said John Quigley, circularity and sustainability specialist at Goodwill. ..."
