Maximize Your MWA Membership

Maximize Your MWA Membership
Whether you are new to MWA or have been a longstanding member, here are 10 ways to maximize your MWA membership experience:

1. Your Profile - Complete your profile information and upload a profile picture so other members can learn about you and see who you are.

2. Notification & Email Preferences - Turn on notifications in your preferences to receive auto-notifications from the website regarding committees, members, and weekly or daily updates. Join email lists under Email Communication Preferences to receive bulletins and digests which come directly from MWA staff.

3. Staff Accounts - Ensure that all staff members who would like to participate in the MWA are registered. Municipal can invite up to 20 additional staff to create their own staff accounts, free of charge–Corporate and Associate, there are 10 seats available. Staff must create their own accounts in order to access the online member community, participate in committees, receive updates and newsletters, and take advantage of member pricing for events.
To add staff accounts, have your master account holder go to the Staff tab on their account + settings page, then use the direct link or invitation form to invite staff to set up their accounts.

4. Committees - Join any of the five active committees on the Committees page. Subscribe to each committee blog to receive notifications when new posts are made. NEW in 2025: The MWA introduced a Depot Community working group.

5. Members' Inquiries - If you are seeking information from others on a particular issue or topic, post an inquiry to the Members' Inquiries forum. Subscribe to receive notifications when new Members' Inquiries are posted. See Instructions and Tips for Posting and Replying to Members' Inquiries.

6. Community Forum - Post an update, article of interest, or something that you're working on with the MWA community using the Community Forum. Subscribe to receive notifications when new posts are created.
