Join the Municipal Waste Association (MWA) or renew your membership! A membership with the MWA grants you access to our online Member Community, exclusive content, committees, peer networking and learning opportunities, as well as supporting the continued efforts and advocacy of the MWA. Members also receive a discount on our Workshop tickets.        We have three different membership types for members:

Municipal
Our municipalities are the heart of our industry; they are where we live and work, and the reason we do the work we do. We’re happy to offer Municipalities scaled membership rates depending on your population size. 2025 fees are published on our homepage. 

Corporate
The MWA values the strong relationships we’ve built with our corporate members over the decades. Proper management of waste in the province would not be possible without partnerships across municipal and corporate lines. Associate
Waste management has the ability to bring people together and our industry brings in people from a variety of other industries – researchers, academics, non-profits, and impassioned citizens. We are proud to offer a special rate for our Associate Members. 2025 fees are published on our homepage.

As a Member, you will be able to:

• Join over 500 other municipal waste & recycling sector professionals on the new online Member Community, where you can start and contribute to discussions, post members' inquiries, and access our growing library of member resources, videos, and tools.
• Invite up to 20 additional staff to create their own profiles under your municipality; and 10 additional staff for corporate or associate accounts. 
• Join any of our five active committees which meet 3-4 times per year to learn about and discuss pertinent topics. Committees include: The Markets, Operations & Contracts Committee; the Organics Committee; the Municipal Hazardous or Special Waste Committee; the Promotion & Education Committee; and the Multi-Residential Committee. NEW in 2025: The MWA created a Depot Community working group. 
• Receive our regular community news posts and monthly newsletters, which compile important, actionable information on all things waste management, including regulatory & advocacy updates, member news, events, featured resources, and more.
• Take advantage of member discounts for all staff at our annual Spring & Fall Workshops.
• Find the right candidates and contractors by posting to our public jobs and tenders boards.
• Keep track of events, webinars, legislation timelines & important dates on the MWA community calendar.
• Be represented through MWA's ongoing advocacy around relevant Provincial and Federal policy matters.
